About 15 years ago I attended a workshop sponsored by my church called Financial Peace University, authored by Dave Ramsey who is a very well-known expert in the area of personal financial counseling. The tag line “better than I deserve” comes from Dave. It has stuck with me through the years, not only in the way Dave uses it in the financial workshop, but as a way of reminding me of the immeasurable grace which is God’s free gift to me and all who call on His name.
