Light Broke Through the Darkness on the First Day of Creation . . .
God provided for order on earth when He created light on the first day of creation. “Let there be light” is the first recorded act of Scripture after God created the world. He called the light day and the darkness night for good reason. We have the sun of joy when it rises, and the night of sorrow when it sets. Remember, there is beauty in both the sunrise and the sunset.
The physical separation of light and darkness is a metaphor for spiritual truth. Jesus is described as the Light of the world shining into darkness. And, light is to be the characteristic of christians. Christians living as a child of light, clearly visible to a dark world.
